Kongsberg

At the Royal Mint Museum of Norway, which is located in Kongsberg, there are exhibited two coins from the time of king Christian the 4th. They have the tetragrammaton on their front side.

King Christian the 4th produced several coins near the end of his reign. A number of his coins are engraved with the tetragrammaton, and are therefore called “Hebrew coins”.

The two coins below have the following text: “Iustus Yehowah Iudex”, which means “Yehowah is a just judge”.
